Last month we visited for the first time the truly enchanting Cain Manor for the loveliest couple Natasha & Gavin. Pulling off the road you are treated to a long and winding driveway through thick lush English forest to reach the private and secluded Elizabethan barn style country house. Cain Manor is part of the Bijou wedding venue’s and is rich with period features, oak floors and beams with a modern yet extraordinarily luxurious feel. Set on the Hampshire/Surrey border set within it’s own private woodland, the perfectly manicured gardens boast views over the rolling Surrey hills. The venue is offered only as exclusive use and is licensed for ceremonies both inside and out.
We provided some beautiful rustic styling to enhance this stunning venue, candle light within the two fireplaces as a romantic focal point for guests whilst enjoying their welcome drinks, the beautiful entrance and foot of the stairway had the same treatment, candles lanterns and wood chunks to create varying heights and a stunning welcome for the guests. The wonderful Clair Lythgoe Wedding and Events Florist joined us in providing her magic throughout.
A beautiful ceremony set up with simple styling, a few rustic hessian sashes, fairy lights, lanterns and some gorgeous blooms made for the perfect setting.
Our gorgeous stacked vintage leather suitcases sat perfectly within the setting, with the addition of some personal touches using Gavin’s family tartan in the form of ribbon, used on jars and draped over the cases. Another beautiful personal touch was a display of family photograph’s using our ornate Gold frame. Fairy lights and foliage adorned the oak beam pillars to finish the wonderfully romantic setting.
Centrepieces were a lovely simple but very effective rustic design and the table plan with stationery from Creationery was set up on our hand painted and restored ladders and styled with tealights and some flowers in jars the brides Mother had provided. Natasha & Gavin are the loveliest couple and we wish them all the best for their new adventures, newly married and newly emigrated to start a new life!
The festive season is sadly behind us, and the end of what was an incredible year for us. Excitedly now we look towards 2017. We have some cracking weddings and events lined up for this year, together with many new venues which we are yet to explore. We will be travelling far and wide and can’t wait to get started.
This year also sees some changes to the business which will be falling into place this month. With our new logo designed at the end of last year, and a new product brochure now available, we are looking forward to working with many wedding suppliers throughout 2017.
January sees us exhibiting at the RNLI wedding show in Poole, Dorset, which is organised by the lovely ladies at Bellissimo Weddings & Venue Managers. Come along on January 8th to meet us and a vast array of amazing suppliers, enjoy a glass of bubbly and some delicious canapes.
Sarah and I will be attending a calligraphy course mid January run by the incredibly talented Gemma Milly. We had the pleasure of meeting Gemma at a recent styled shoot and instantly fell in love with her work. To say we are excited for the course is an understatement. We will also be joined by the lovely Emma of Fancie Buns, what a fab day that will be! Who says January is full of doom and gloom.
We are also at at new venue for us this month, Cain Manor on the Surrey/Hampshire border. This is a jewel of a country house set amongst its own private land, surrounded by thick green English forest. The beautiful barn style country house boasts stunning period details and old oak floors and beams coupled with modern luxury. With stunning views of wild-flower meadows and wild forest we simply cannot wait to visit and do our thing!
Woodland Luxe Styled Shoot.
Back in October we were involved in a stunning autumnal woodland luxe shoot in the heart of Dorset. The truly lovely Knighton House offered the fantastic backdrop amid beautiful scenery. Coupled with Carla and Owen from Coastal tents as well as their lovely tipis and sailcloth tents, we were set.
Thursday morning Sarah and I arrived on site ready for a especially full day, prior to Fridays shoot. The incredibly talented Em from Martha & the Meadow was straightaway located amongst the largest pile of blooms and foliage. Excitedly we went in search of the Minna dresses together with the Love Art, Wear Art shoes which we hadn’t yet seen in the flesh. We were not disappointed!! Without delay we discovered the beautiful silk ribbons and runner from Kate Cullen, we could not wait to use this stunner of a runner! Ahhh and Gemma Milly’s stationery was just perfect, we loved Gemma’s work so much that Sarah and I booked ourselves onto her calligraphy course in January.
A busy day was had by all among the Dorset countryside. We loved coming together with Em from Martha and the Meadow in addition with Lucy from Forget-me-not Vintage Hire to create the main statement tablescape. With many other areas for the shoot to prepare, it was very soon the evening and we got ourselves home ready for the next day, despite being exhausted we were definately excited for the next day.
Friday morning came and we had the gorgeous Nadia Achha from Big Mustard Modelling Agency arrive. The lovely Fiona Lucy Clark was on hand to create three stunning looks for Nadia throughout the day. Darima Frampton was particularly amazing, capturing such wonderful images. Then Emma from Fancie Buns arrived with the most amazing array of statement cakes, including minis and delicious looking chocolates to create a simply stunning sweet table. This was styled with some gorgeous gold candlesticks, plum candles, Kate Cullen’s silk ribbons and some beautiful blooms from Em.
The shoot was an absolute dream. We are totally in love with Darima’s images, for us it was an honour to be involved with such significantly talented suppliers. Here is a list of the lovely people involved.

We had the absolute pleasure of styling Ben & Emily’s wedding earlier on this week. Naturally when we heard the words Harry Potter with a touch of glam and a little Halloween thrown in we were utterly delighted! This couple were an absolute dream to work alongside. We were very much given a free reign and had the most fun gathering and making props for this sophisticated wedding breakfast. The lovely Stanwell House in Lymington, Hampshire was the setting.
Much thought and detail went into creating this epic banquet style tablescape. We sourced a lovely eclectic mix of potion bottles and had a lot of fun mixing the ‘potions’. Authentic Harry Potter style labels were added for the finishing touch. Miniature pumpkins were used together with our book props and lovely little keys. There was candle light galore with a mix of our unique gold candelabras and candlesticks. All candles were burned prior to the event to give a lovely drippy effect. Pillar candles and tealights alongside our stunning rose gold sequin runners to add a touch of glam.
We were absolutely in love with this wedding breakfast, the lovely couple supplied some wonderful props for the other areas from their personal collections, all in all this was a absolute cracker! The pictures just do not do it justice!
Wow! The 2017 Wedding Industry Awards have been announced! We have been selected as a regional finalist for the venue styling category for the South West! This is completely unexpected and of course we are incredibly honoured to have got this far.
We have some especially talented companies in our category. Wish us luck! Glitzy dresses will be at the ready for the awards event later this month.
Owen & Carla are a husband and wife team who are incredibly passionate about helping you create the perfect setting for your big day.
They provide authentic nordic tipi’s which are absolutely gorgeous (my new favourite thing!!), solid wooden poles with a light tan canvas, just perfect! They also provide sailcloth tents which are a fantastic alternative to marquee’s, the translucent sailcloth allows natural light to enhance the daylight and offers a fantastic glow in the evening. Another lovely feature is the panoramic sides which can easily be rolled up (or down) to suit your needs and allow the outside in, why miss those views!
Coastal Tents also provide some fantastic item’s to enhance your event, from solid wood tables and benches, to festoon walkways, unique bar options, awesome handmade reclaimed pallet wood doors to really make an entrance, and atmospheric fire pits to name a few.
Carla & Owen contacted us at the beginning of the year to ask us whether we would like to get involved and tell us about the planned open day event at the beautiful Dorset Farm Party, based on the Charisworth Farm, near Blandford, Dorset.
We were sold at the mention of tipi’s and were very excited to be styling the event, surrounded by some incredible local supplier’s. After meeting with the team we were massively impressed at the passion that Carla & Owen have for their business and seeing the sailcloth tents and tipi’s we couldn’t wait to get started!
Month’s of planning saw us loading up two vehicles armed with all things gorgeous, a festival style vibe for the tipi’s, using a colour palette of creams, nude, peach, coral, a splash of cerise, jade and touches of gold, and an abundance of ribbon’s. The sailcloth was dressed in a more elegant classic style to contrast the tipi. Using masses of candlelight throughout both styles of tents.
We had an amazing day dressing the tents in such a beautiful location, the view – just stunningly perfect! We had the pleasure of Sophie & Mark from Digital Bohemia Wedding Videography capturing some footage of the set up. We also met the lovely girls from New Street Flowers who provided us with some gorgeous blooms which complimented everything perfectly. The open day event on the following day led into a styled shoot which sadly we weren’t able to attend either due to an incredibly busy 5 event weekend, one of the hardest weekends we’ve had in a while, but probably one of the most rewarding!
Watch out for images and video of the incredible day and evening to follow- we are too excited to see them!! We will post images and a full list of the supplier’s involved very soon.
Sunday saw us visiting the stunning Canford School, set in 250 acres of landscaped grounds in the beautiful county of Dorset.
The grade 1 listed manor house offers a unique setting for your civil ceremony or alternatively the 14th century Norman Church provides the option of a religious service. With exclusive use of the grounds for your wedding day, there is also the option of an outdoor reception by the magnificent fountain.
This truly is an absolutely amazing venue, internally there is wonderful features at every turn with THE most spectacular sweeping staircase outside the Great Hall, and the grounds are just picture perfect.
We were invited by the school to the open day to dress parts of the venue following a stunning wedding we dressed here last year. We are very much looking forward to a close working relationship with the school and will be dressing an important event for them in the summer which will include 35 candelabra’s!!
If you are still debating your wedding venue, please book an appointment to view this stunning location, you wont be disappointed, even if it’s just to see the staircase, spectacular!!
I wanted to share with you today some gorgeous images by the super talented Charlotte Bryer-Ash Photography when she came to meet up with the equally talented Clair Lythgoe Wedding & Event Florist
Charlotte visited Clair’s studio to capture her preparing for an upcoming wedding showcase, for her new series, south coast supplier spotlight. Clair has a rural style, using natural rustic flowers with a sumptuous glamorous edge, foliage features heavily in Clair’s work giving it a real woodland feel. We love Clair’s work and are lucky enough to have our studio above Clair’s, so I popped down to say Hi to the ladies whilst these beauties were being created and also to see what gorgeousness was being crafted onto our candelabra’s. I was certainly not disappointed!
Charlotte is a South Coast Photographer that we have worked with many times, we adore her work, stylish, romantic and natural wedding photography. We will all be working together in the next few months on a very exciting project…….watch this space!
One of us has a wood obsessed husband, this used to be difficult to deal with….. a garage full to the brim with offcut’s brought back from anywhere that was throwing them away, and don’t even start on pallets, far too easily obtainable. The garage then spilt to the side of the house, evenings with the other half missing, only clues being the occasional bang from the garage.
Then an amazing handmade beach hut post box created for his own wedding sparked the list of projects from the Linen & Lace ladies. It turns out all the practice projects on random bits of wood have made an incredibly skilled wood craftsman!
We have handmade signs, beautifully sanded and stained, with incredible handwritten lettering. Unique post box’s which are some of our most popular items, and now THE most incredible table, we are SO in love with it! Reclaimed scaffold boards on brushed steel hairpin legs. The boards have been stained with the perfect tone and lovely features remain on the reclaimed boards. This table was made for our studio, with a view to use on styled shoots, it now marks the beginning of an exciting next stage of Linen & Lace.
Watch this space for the next phase!
Photo’s from a recent styled shoot, styling, table, chair decor, candlesticks, glassware and napkins our own, gorgeous flowers and greenery runner supplied by DaisyLee Ltd and beautiful stationary by the talented Confetti Designs.
Well it’s official the Christmas period is over, and although we have been dipping in and out of work over the festive season, today we are well and truely back to work with a bang and currently working our way through a huge ‘to do’ list.
As one of my plans for the new year was to post more blogs I am making time today to share a lovely review we received this morning from a recent wedding we were so pleased to be part of, this has really brightened up a damp cold Monday morning. Thanks Kate & Gary X
“Hello Sam & Sarah, I just wanted to say thank you so so much for the absolutely superb bespoke styling you did for our wedding at Moonfleet in December. You absolutely captured the essence of a magical Christmas wedding. The crystal candelabra’s were absolutely stunning and twinkled beautifully along with the dozens of tea lights you provided, the attention to detail was outstanding. By using your bespoke styling service, it took all of the indecisiveness away re postboxes, chair covers etc etc. We were absolutely overwhelmed at how beautiful the room looked. All of our guests commented on the lovely ambience created. We can’t thank you enough! Your correspondence and communication was great all along the way and you were lovely to deal with, we would recommend you to anyone planning a wedding, especially your bespoke styling service which, quite frankly is a no brainer if you want an amazing job done but can’t make decisions quickly like us. Thanks again and Happy New Year, Kate & Gary xx”
With Christmas now behind us we’re looking ahead to a very exciting 2016.
January is upon us with many, many highs and just one low, it’s the dreaded month of the tax return. Arrggghhhh! Now with us being a pretty organised pair it could be worse, much, much worse but let’s face it, there is a million things we would rather be doing!
Thankfully there are many, many more exciting highs. We will be exhibiting throughout January, you can come and say “Hi” at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel open day on Saturday the 9th, or at The Kings open day on Sunday the 10th. We will also be dressing the lovely Lord Bute for their wedding showcase taking place on Saturday the 23rd.
We also have our largest candelabra event at the end of January, 27 centrepiece’s with a 1920’s theme to include all 10 of our stunning swarvoski trimmed crystal candelabra’s, the rest to include our silver candelabra’s and tall lily vases, lots of crystals, pearls and feathers. We can’t wait to share this one with you!
January will see us running a fantastic 10% off all bookings taken throughout the month which should help get everyone back on track with the wedding planning. This offer can also be used on our bespoke set up service, we will be offering free consultations at our studio to browse our items and chat through any styling idea’s.
We will also be using January to plan the launches of our new items, so watch this space for more unique beautiful products to join our range.
Back at the end of September we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day at the gorgeous Sopley Mill as the backdrop for our glam, boho inspired styled shoot.
Months of meticulous planning and enlisting some amazing local suppliers all contributed to pulling together this fabulous styled shoot.
We used varying textures and tones of gold throughout the shoot to add an element of glam to a relaxed bohemian look, we hope the beautiful images provide you with some inspiration.
Here is a list of the talented suppliers we were lucky enough to get on board, and we can’t thank them enough, each supplier exceeded our expectations and complimented each others work beautifully. Huge thanks also go to our gorgeous models, real-life couple Hollie and Calum.

At the beginning of the year we took an enquiry from a lovely bride, this lady wanted to hire a few items from us but more importantly for her needed to hire us. Our bride had an exact vision for her big day and had gathered and handmade many items and was concerned with handing over the setting up to someone else.
The beautiful Sopley Mill in Hampshire was the venue, so a complete blank canvas with many area’s to dress, after an in depth consultation and a promise of an army of men at our dipsoal for the day (how terrible), the scene was set.
The morning of the wedding was a lot of fun, an army of men did indeed turn up including many of the groomsmen with a giant van filled with the most incredible amount of boxes we had ever seen for a set up! Hay bales for outdoor furniture, giant log chunks (not slices), ladders to reach the highest branches of the tree’s and even an artificial grass runner for the aisle. The end results were simply amazing and our brides vision and eye for detail was incredible and an absolute joy to be part of. Her organisation was also worthy of a mention, the packing and labelling of the items was unbelievably well executed.
So the Set Up Service was born, along with our exclusive Bespoke Set Up Service which allows the client the full use of any of our hire items and props to include swarvoski trimmed crystal candelabra’s and chandelier’s and many unique handmade item’s to help style any event.
These services have already proved very popular this year and along with our ever increasing range of items we are predicting next year to be a busy year with our Set Up Services.
After an exciting, extremely busy wedding season, we are finally back on the blog! No excuses, we know it’s been too long. #mustdobetter!
So we’ll kick off with the news that we have new premises in Dorset, we are absolutely thrilled to have a space to call our own, somewhere for you gorgeous people to come and meet us and more importantly gaze upon our beautiful items, and we have been very busy adding to our fantastic range of products. Carefully and uniquely handmade, lovingly sourced and some just stunning items to offer for a truly bespoke event.
Along with our increased hire range we have also added a couple of new services which we are very proud to offer, but more details of these to follow on the next blog- trust me another will follow, it’s an early new years resolution!
We have been very fortunate to have visited some stunning venue’s this year near and far, also to have built up some special relationships with a number of fantastic venue’s which we will be working very closely with.
Most recently we have organised a fabulous styled shoot with some of the best Dorset wedding suppliers at the very beautiful Sopley Mill. The results of this amazing day for now remain a secret, but watch this space for some gorgeous images to follow and information on all our fantastic suplier friends that we we’re lucky enough to get involved.
We were very excited to once again team up with the very talented Charlotte Bryer-Ash and a team of local Dorset wedding suppliers to bring together this romantic backgarden inspired shoot.
This also provided us with the perfect excuse to showcase our stunning new crystal chandelier framed with soft romantic fabric, our fab handmade signs also made their debut and our restored ladders provided the backdrop to this gorgeous table plan.

If you go down to the woods today you’re sure to find GOLD!!
We enjoyed a lovely bright morning in some woodland near Christchurch in the company of the very talented Charlotte Bryer-Ash who shot our gold candlestick and candelabra collection for us.
The gorgeous arrangements were provided by the fab team at Hillview Flowers and Events, they couldn’t have worked better against the gold and the gorgeous woodland backdrop.
We are so pleased to now be able to offer this collection and are sure that you will all love it as much as we do!
It was a wonderful visit for us back to Rookesbury Park School in Wickham, Hampshire last Sunday. We were exhibiting with the lovely ladies at Little Bird Events.
All the excitement of the day was centered in the beautiful orangery room and we found ourselves behind the lovely Jenny Owens, an amazingly talented photographer who took these wonderful images throughout the day.
We had a two table set up, one we dressed as a replica from the Masquerade Photoshoot we were involved in which was featured in the latest edition of Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding Magazine. On our other table we displayed some of our favourite props and hire items, of course our new stunningly beautiful swarovski trimmed crystal candelabra made an appearance and some beautiful new chair decor made their debut. Flowers were supplied by our friends at Hillview Flowers and Events.
It was a lovely day spent chatting through ideas with lots of excited brides and their families and of course fantastic to see all the other friendly exhibitors, made some new friends and got to catch up with some old ones.
What a January so far…. our venue dressing and hire items have been booked for many occasions this month, weddings of course and also a big birthday party, a ball and prop hire to a local business! We have been asked to cover events in Hampshire, Dorset and Somerset, from a beautiful historic 16th century house to a castle.
We are also getting some very exciting enquiries coming in including a private house dating back to the 10th century with the most stunning backdrop for a wedding, we are very much looking forward to seeing whether we can help dress this beautiful venue.
We have included a fantastic new handmade post box to our hire range, restored some wonderful old ladders and have the most stunning swarovski trimmed crystal candelabra’s and chandeliers landing at HQ tomorrow. We are currently collating a unique and old candlestick collection due to be included in our range very soon.
Oh and one of our gorgeous bride’s weddings we helped dress has been blogged again and a recent photoshoot we had involvement in has also been blogged by Coco Wedding Venues.
We haven’t yet reached the end of this month and look forward to what else can be fitted into the next week……… February is looking pretty great too but we’ll talk about that next month!
Our amazing new handmade post box is ready to join our other items. Finished in an antique white, it’s the perfect neutral addition sure to fit any theme, and completely unique to us.
We are currently working very hard to bring you some excitingly gorgeous new products…
These beautiful crystal candelabra’s are going to be arriving with us in about a fortnight along with swarovski trimmed crystal chandeliers! We are so incredibly excited about these products we can barely contain ourselves!
Also joining these items will be some additional table decor ranges, we will be sure to keep you updated.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year with our 15% off any event booking made throughout January! Dont worry if you are unsure of numbers yet, we only require a 25% deposit to secure your date with final numbers and outstanding balances required 4 weeks before the event. We are aware that couples often change their minds with themes, colours and more and that is absolutely fine! Take a look at our products and prices and galleries for more information. If you have any specific styling idea for your event drop us a line and talk through it, we LOVE to work on something a little different!
We have been busy lovingly restoring these old ladders, which have now joined our many other items to hire. Perfect for so many different uses, we have lots of ideas so keep an eye out for them in the following weeks!
We are currently in the process of making a new post box for wedding cards! This will be joining our handmade beach hut post box, our vintage stacked suitcases and our large birdcage. With so many brides asking us for a different, non themed, neutral coloured item to hire we decided it was time to make one!
It’s taking shape much quicker than planned, with lot’s of finer details to add like the edging trim for the roof, door and base and then we just need to decide on the perfect colour! We can’t wait to show off the end product!
Here to spread some festive cuteness and cheer, our very own Linen & Lace little elf helper. X

Our starfish have landed! Quite a journey they have had too! These are going to make such cute little chair back brooches. Always going the extra mile, in this case over 4000 of them!
These little hand stitched lace hearts are coming along nicely for hanging at some of our weddings this year. A few more to go yet though!
